Abstract

This research aims to estimate the amount of solid waste and survey the current status of solid waste at Vietnam National Military Training Center No.3 (TB3) and thence propose the integrated management to solve its problem. The results showed that only normal solid waste from office areas were collected, the others from temporary quarters were not. Most of all normal solid waste at TB3 were burnt, bulked or unhygienically bury. The materials after the destruction of unexploded explosive or ammunition were bury at the same place they were destructed without any pollution control activity. Therefore, the integrated solid waste management method are expected to improve the solid waste pollution at TB3 and environmental quality for military trainings and exercises.
