Abstract

This article presents the process of design, fabrication, and verification of a multi-functional radiation measuring device (which can measure a variety of radiation types with a wide gamma dose range, from 0.15 µSv to 20 Sv). This device consists of two basic parts: the radiation probe and the electrometer. In order to measure different types of radiation (α, β, g, and n), multiple radiation probes (combination between the CLYC (Cs2LiYCl6:Ce) crystal recording g, n and Silic PIN  photodiode S3590-08; and combination between the CLYC (Cs2LiYCl6:Ce) crystal recording α, β and Silic PIN  photodiode S3590-09) are required to be integrated into the radiation measuring device. The electrometer has the main part of modern microcontrollers (being used in various laboratories over the world) and other selected components in order to bear the harshest working conditions in military purpose. Verification of the self-developed radiation measuring device has been done in comparison with international commercial products to confirm its operational performance equivalence.
