Abstract

In the infrared collimator used to measure, the main mirror plays a very important role, that decides the accuracy of the outgoing beam. The mirror surface must be machined with high precision, the mechanical mechanisms holding the mirror must ensure that the working surface of the mirror is not significantly deformed. In this paper, we used the finite element method to investigate the impact of mechanical parts on deformation of optical components. Since then, solutions have been proposed to minimize the impact of clamping forces on optical components. When applying these solutions, we have successfully designed and fabricated the main mirror assembly of the infrared collimator with high accuracy, experimental results show that the collimator works correctly, wavefront aberration of 0.044l is sufficient to test thermal imaging lenses operating in the 8-12 mm spectral region.
