Abstract

This work presented the study on the effects of several heat treatment regimes on the properties of the LK75-0.5 silicon brass alloy fabricated from the waste brass alloy. The heat treatment processes for the fabrication of the LK75-0.5 silicon brass alloy included homogeneous annealing after casting and recrystallization annealing after plate rolling. The alloys after each heat treatment process were evaluated for microorganism and mechanical properties. The as-prepared LK75-0.5 silicon brass alloy was of single phase brass, hardness of 71 HB, a tensile strength of 34 kG/mm2, elongation of approximately 52%, which has a quality equivalent to the LK75-0.5 silicon brass alloy plate made of China or Russia.
