Abstract

Carbon Nanodots (CNDs) as new materials have applicability to detect heavy metals in the water. The research team used a hydrothermal method to synthesize CNDs from Citric acid (CA), Urea (URA) and thiourea (TURA) by hydrothermal method at a high temperature in different conditions. Then CNDs will be tested to detect metals Al, Ag and Hg in water with a concentration of 1ppm 1ppb to. The results showed that 3 out of 5 samples CNDs tested in the study have the ability to identify three metals Ag and Al (concentration 100ppb for ion Al in form II 1ppm for ion Ag in samples IV and 100ppb). Such synthetic materials CNDs can determine the presence of certain metal ions in water.
